Fairytale of Winter by Da Xia

Fairytale of Winter by Da Xia

Genre: Shojo
Length: One Chapter – 24 Pages

This manhua (making it my first Chinese comic review) has such pretty art, though it can be a little sparse. There isn't a lot of dialog to it, making the expressions and actions of the characters carry the brunt of the story. It holds up under that pressure. It has a very European look to the clothes and the characters in general. Its stylized and enjoyable to look at.
The sad tale of a snow princess and the boy who created her.
Instead of a heartwarming tale, this is a melancholy one, in typical fairy tale style. The art is beautiful, and it really does help tell the story. I think if there had been a few more pages, it would have been even better. I realize the author probably had no control over that, but its still my opinion. The 'cold' feeling of the story carries through out even when the seasons are changing. Just like the name says, its a winter tale true and true.

4/5 Perfect for the season, even though its a sad story.
