Game Over by Fuka Mizutani

Game Over by Fuka Mizutani

Genre: Josei (I think it’s only this because the woman is older, this manga is tame fluff)
Length: One Volume - 5 Chapters and 3 One Shots

‘Very cute’ is how I would describe this manga. The art is simplistic in the faces, but not in a bad or generic way. I like the hair, especially. The clothes are nice, too, not stylized but very normal and casual looking. The art looks clean and so do the backgrounds.
Art and Story (c) Fuka Mizutani
Akemi, to make such the dull life of being an office lady more fun, made up a game to play on her morning ride on the bus. The game goes as follows: she carefully picks a partner and sits down next to them and if they have to give her a second glance, she wins the game. It gives her a sense of accomplishment and it spices up the daily grind. One day the bus is rather empty, with only a middle school boy to sit next to. She doesn’t really care for a kid so young, but she loves to play her little game, so she decides to take the challenge anyway. To Akemi's surprise and chagrin, the boy doesn't even give her a first glance, let alone a second! Is this… Game Over?
I really liked this manga, though I wish it was longer, not an uncommon complaint in one volume manga. The couple is cute, and there is a bit of an inverse relationship considering how the story starts. It just would be nice to have more in between what there is given because the story does jump around a bit. I even thought it was much shorter than it was; I ripped through it so fast. The three included one shots are all amusing as well, they are all cute and fluffy, too. The one about a pastry shop is my personal favorite, I also wished there was more of that couple but alas, no. Oooooooohhhhh, this manga is full of couples you want to see more of. The humor is great, though I could tell that just by the cover and the colored inserts. I had a hard time finding pages to add to my post, truthfully, because there is a general clutter of word bubbles on the pages, giving them a frantic energy, perhaps that’s why I read it so fast. I didn't notice the clutter it while I was reading though, because it feels quite natural. The characters, too, they seem a bit outlandish but they come off really normal somehow.
See, ain't they cute together?

4/5 Recommended, and wishing there was more.
