Ayakashi Tennen Beans by Minami Sachi

Ayakashi Tennen Beans by Minami Sachi

Genre: Shojo (all fluff anyone can read it)
Series Length: One Volume - 3 chapters

Seriously, all fluff. The art is fairly generic shojo with skinny faces and limbs, there are backgrounds and the art is polished enough that you don't trip over any strangeness.  The action scenes are a bit hectic, and sometimes the panel arrangement can be busy and you might read the word bubbles out of order. Fluffy, but it’s not a typical school fluff read, it has interesting supernatural elements that don’t feel like they’ve been done before.
Miya Tamaki is in love with a boy who everyone thinks is rough and tumble, but who Miya knows is nice because he saved her from drowning. Of course, he doesn't remember her because at the time she was a cat. In fact, she was a bakeneko, a demon cat with a split tail. Since that fateful night of the full moon, all Miya can think about is that human and she will stop at nothing to be his. Unfortunately, Miya has just one year as a human to make her crush, Atsushi Toujou, fall for her and become his girlfriend before her weak transformation power wears out and she can no longer be human. But Toujou seems completely uninterested and Miya's two childhood friends keep getting in the way every time she gets close.
Fluffy fluff fluff fluffy-stuff. Silly and slapstick, Miya’s straight forward ways and cat-like mannerisms make for a fun read. If you are expecting a good ending, though, look else where, there is no resolution what so ever. Feels like it should be part of a bigger set but as far as I know, it is not. I really wanted some sort of coupling to happen but you get a glimmer of hope that things might work out. Still wouldn’t call it a waste, I’ve been more invested with crappier endings, and Ayakashi Tennen Beans is really charming. Its one volume makes it a fast read so even if the ending is so open its hard to call it an ending at all, the fact that the plot line feels fresh and novel makes it worth the short amount of time.

4/5 Recommended for a quick, cute read.
