Anata no Mune ni Kaeru Hi Made by Izumi Miyazono
Genre: Josei (18 and up because boobs)
Length: One Volume - 5 Chapters
This manga has a good look, though there was a little bit of awkward body movements, its hardly noticeable. There's a short sex scene, not too graphic but it is an adult manga. So... on to the synopsis...
Ran Koizumi has had a hard time with relationships, and when she finds her newest boyfriend (her boss of all people) is actually married she breaks up with him even though he doesn't want to. When he catches her alone he threatens her, and all Ran can think about is the one person she has loved all along, her brother's former best friend, Kazuya Yagami, who she hasn't seen in seven years. Lo and behold, it is the same Kazuya who saves her from her boss's abuse. Appearing as suddenly as he disappeared years before, can she tell him how much she has loved him all this time? And can a relationship bloom when every girlfriend he's had has been chased away by his influential family?
Okay, so I didn't much like this manga. The art is good and the plot sounds, at first, that I would like it, even if it's a bit of a cliché mash up. My main beef with it is the pacing. Maybe this manga would have done better as a two volume, but I've read tons of one volume manga that are perfectly good so I won’t just give it a pass because of that. A few things tripped me up, for example, fourteen pages in; a flashback blurs the line between itself and the past. It's only three pages long, but I couldn't tell who was saying what so I got confused. .And then, when her boss calls her to the roof (my I also add, who doesn't know if your boss is married or not?) and attacks her there's some dialog about him just being paid for it and again I was confused as to whether or not it really was her boss. If it wasn't, why didn't she say anything, and if it was, why was he attacking her for money? It took me another reading to realize the dialog was about two different incidents. I will give the protagonist a plus, though, she does not jump into bed with the man right away. Still, the drama felt forced to me because part of it is revealed and it's something that can be resolved quickly, but instead isn't. Instead there's a whole chapter where Ran is talking about how she hasn't seen Kazuya, I love him, I miss him, yadda yadda, and you kinda want to say 'get on with it already!' even though the rest of the manga rushes through everything at breakneck speed. It’s a strange juxtaposition.
2/5 Not Really Recommended. The art is nice and it’s a quick read, but why bother?
